BUDAPEST BOMBED BY RAF
Big Explosions In Railway Yards
LONDON, Friday, AAP
German communications with the Russian front were pounded last night when RAF Halifaxes and Wellingtons flew from Mediterranean bases to attack Budapest, capital of Hungary.
The raid took place less than 24 hours after British bombers had attacked Bucharest, capital
of Rumania.
Crews reported that the rail- way yards at Budapest were
well covered by 4,000lb bombs which caused two violent explosions.
Budapest, which is on the River Danube, was previously
attacked last month. (
