HERE EIGHT YEARS AGO Air Commodore Going to England

CANBERRA, Thursday.-The Federal Ministry has been informed by the Imperial Government that the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty propose to nominate Rear-Admiral R. H. O. LanePoole to succeed Rear-Admiral W. T. Randle Ford in command of the Australian Naval Squadron.

The Minister for Defence (Mr. Parkhill) said to-night that Rear-Admiral W. T. Randle Ford would complete his two years' terms of office shortly.

A communication had been sent to the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs concurring on behalf of the Commonwealth Government in the nomina-

tion. Mr,

Parkhill also announced that arrangements had been completed for the exchange of Air-Commodore S. J. Goble, of the Royal Australian Air Force, with Air-Commodore H. R.
