Gatton Shire Loses' -But Will Gain LAIDLEY, Dec. 7.-The Gat-: ton Shire Clerk (Mr. A. J. Smallwood) said yesterday that! a recent Order-in-Council onl redistribution of local authority boundaries affected Gatton Shire where it joined with Darling Downs shires in the south, west, and north-west. The Toowoomba City Council and Crow's Nest Shire Coun-: cil would take about 11 and 3a square miles respectively from the Gatton Shire. On the other hand, he said. Gatton would receive about 12 square miles ofi the Drayton Shire and 25J square miles of the Highfields Shire area. This would mean a net gains to Qatton of about 32 square miles, giving the shire a total area of 650 square miles.
