ASSOCIATION

GRAND FINAL

Northcote or Coburg

By ONLOOKER

Northcote and Coburg will meet at Olympic Park to morrow to decide" the premiership of the Association One of the keenest games of the series should be seen When these teams met in the second semi final Coburg with a great finishing burst that caught Northcote unawares won by six points N ort 1 cote then met Port Melbourne winner of the first and final and showed particularly good form tu In Northcote and Coburg will thus fight the final match of I last year all over again On that occasion North

I cote played the more consistent and reliable game

to win the premiership Coburg lost principally because of its mistakes on the forward line

Both teams have given serious thought to the composition of its forces and the tactical moves that are expected to bring victory In the final last year Coburg had Duncan at centre half-back This year however he has been playing full forward with a fair amount of success If he is on the target Coburg might easily win He obtains many opportunities to score but has a good percentage of nurses He may have an advantage in that Northcote has been experimenting with its full back for it his not been able adequately to replace Cockram (now at Fitzroy) or Miss wain (now at Preston) both of whom were conspicuous successes in that position in recent seasons Seymour Northcote's full forward out pointed Bertram in the final last year scoring eight goals Bertram however has been more successful this season Coburg has a clever half forward line which how ever will be thoroughly tested by the opposition half backs who are among the most talented in the Association li-? centre-line diph should be among the fit I its of the match but on recent form Northcote should win in the faction of the field Garrett has been an exceptionally good form and with Cole avail abc again on the other wing some clever plus should be seen Coburg is solid on the half back line where II i Rolph is often a match winner but Northcote's attack is exceptionally good and here again the contests should be exciting

With the League premiership decided many supporters of League clubs are expected to swell the attendance at the match and preparations are in hand to cope with a record gathering. The Association Sub districts B grade premier-ship will be contested as a curtain raiser
