VICE-REGAL I
The Governor-General, Sir John Kerr arrived in Brisbane from Canberra yesterday, and received a ceremonial welcome at Brisbane Airport. He was welcomed by the Governor of Queensland, Sir'Colin Hannah, and his wife and the Premier of Queensland, Mr Bjelke-Petersen, and his wife.
Later, the Governor-General was guest of honour at a Cabinet 1 luncheon given by the Government of Queensland at
the Executive Building in Bris
bane.
In the afternoon, he received the following callers at. Government House, Brisbane:
Sir Mostyn Hanger, Chief Justice of Queensland; Mr T. J. Burns, Leader of the State Opposition; Major-General R. L. Hughes, Commander, First Division; Air Commodore S. D. Evans, Senior Air Officer, Southern Queensland; Captain D- Nicholls, Naval Officer, Commanding Queensland; the
Most Reverend Dr F. R. Arnott, Anglican Archbishop of Brisbane; the Most. Reverend F. R. Rush, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Brisbane; the Reverend R. E. J arrott. President, the Queensland' Council of Churches; Colonel W, H. Wansley, Colonel K. D. Whiting, Lieutenant-Colonel R.- 1. Harrison, Wing Commander R. G. Funnel), honorary aides-de-camp to the Governor-General; and Colonel M. G. T. Kenny, honorary dental surgeon to the Governor-General.
Later, the Governor-General
attended a press reception at Government House and afterwards attended a State Government reception at the Lennons Plaza Hotel, Brisbane.
