FATAL CASE OF SNAKE BITE.

WANGARATTA, THURSDAY.

A fatal case of snake bite is reported, the victim being a Chinese market gardener, at Wangaratta Yesterday the deceased was walking near his hut, when he trod on a black snake, 3ft long, which bit him on the heel The snake was killed, and its head rubbed on the bitten part which the Chinese believe is an antidote As the patient got worse the police were sent for this morning, and they removed him to the Wangaratta Hospital, where he died shortly after admission. This is the first fatal case of snake bite here this season
