BRUNSWICK'S

OPPONENT

Bid by Prahran

By ROVER

No quarter will be given when Prahran and Williamstown meet to-morrow in the Association preliminary final. A hard, fast, and spectacular match and another exciting finish are promised.

Because of the dispute between the Prahran Council and Prahran Cricket Club over the Toorak Park ground, it will not be known until to-day where the match will be played.

There is only one change at Williamstown, where Willett replaces Ward. Menzies is still not available. The Prahran team is unchanged.

Although defeated by Brunswick in the second semi-final. Prahran receives a second chance to qualify for the grand final against Brunswick at the Melbourne Cricket-ground on October 7. Prahran's task will be difficult, because Williamstown has not lost a match in eight weeks. Its players gained valuable experience in their semi-final against Northcote two weeks ago.

Quinn to Play

There were two surprises in the Williamstown camp last night, but only one was welcomed by followers. It was an announcement that Quinn, the follower, who dislocated a finger against Northcote, had recovered and would be chosen. His finger, however, will be heavily bandaged

for the match.

Williamstown's champion wingman (Doug. Menzies) expressed great disappointment when he pulled up after train-ing with a recurrence of an ankle injury which prevented him from taking part in

the first semi-final.

Glass is still troubled by a leg injury, but will take his place in the team.

At a theatre party on Wednesday night the captain and coach (Gordon Ogden was presented with a smoker's stand. Similar presentations were made to the president (Mr. F. Horsley) and the secretary (Mr. Larry Floyd).

The secretary (Mr A J Chessell) said last night that Brunswick s application to train at the Melbourne Cricket-ground on Tuesday and Thursday nights next week had been refused The selectors will meet to-night to decide whether Hobba and Fitzgibbon should be permitted to play in the seconds final to-morrow
