COCHET A PROFESSIONAL,.

PARIS, September 9.

It was announced to-day that H. Cochet, the French lawn tennis champion, had become a professional.

"France is losing her trump card in international matches, but it is only fair that Cochet, after his generous services to French tennis, should look after himself," said Jean Borotra.

Cochet forecasts that the time is coming when all players will receive a percentage of the profits from the "gates" and the distinction between amateurs and professionals be abolished.
