Visit to Country

HEALESVILLE, Thursday. - Geoffrey Fish, aged 11 years officially received His Excellency the Governor (Lord Hunting-field) when, with Lieut-Colonel Helme Pott, he visited the Buxton State school, among other centres In the Healesville and Marysville districts to-day

Despite inclement weather many resi-dents and school children from outlying districts assembled at the Healesville Memorial Hall to receive Lord Hunting-field. After a welcome by the shire presi-dent (Councillor S B Mowle), Lord Huntingfield visited the Healesville State school where he was received by the head master (Mr. Webb), and also the Convent school, where he was welcomed by the Rev Father Coyne and the Sisters of St Joseph

An official luncheon was given Lord Huntingfield by the shire councillors at Hotel Gracedale, and In the afternoon he left for Marysville and opened the new Narbethong school. On behalf of Buxton residents Mr. T. Robb presented Lord Huntingfield with a walking-stick made from district timber.
