Ship News.

Arrived on Saturday last the transport-ship Lady East, Captain Talbert, from England, willi 208 male convicts. She left the Downs on the 17th December. - Surgeon Superinten-dent, Dr. W. McDowell, R. N. The Guard consists of a detachment of the 20th and 40th

Government stores.

Arrived on Wednesday last, the Australian Company's ship, City of Edinburgh, Captain Mackellar, from Leith the 13th of November, with merchandise and numerous passengers. On her passage she touched at St. Jago and the Cape of Good Hope.

Arrived on Wednesday morning from a sealing voyage, the schooner Governor Brisbane, R. Chace, commander (belonging to the house of Messrs. Kemp and Co.), being out only five months, having had the good fortune to procure 3,500 prime fur seal skins.

Sailed on Saturday last the Colonial brig Haweis, Captain Dibbs, for Sydney.
