News.

Arrived on Monday, the ship Cumberland, Captain Robert Carns, from England the 28th of August, having touched on her passage at Rio, where she stayed three weeks, bringing 59 passengers, and a valuable cargo of mer-

chandize.

Arrived on Wednesday the ship Phoenix, Captain Francis Dixon, with 76 passengers (in-cluding children), and merchandize. - She left the Downs on the 16th September, and touch-ed at the Cape of Good Hope, where she re-

mained a week.

The Colonial schooner Governor Arthur, Mr. Cunningham, Master-, with upwards of 1000 bushels of wheat, 8 days from George Town, returned to port last Tuesday week.

The Colonial schooner Mary and Sally, Mr. Smith, Master, has arrived in port from a sealing voyage.

Remain in the harbour, the ships Cumber-land, Phoenix, and Admiral Cockburn; the brig Deveron; and the Colonial schooners Governor Arthur and Mary and Sally.
