Layer outclasses Rosewall with
swift efficiency
LONDON, Sunday (A A P - Reuter). -Australian Rod Lavcr won the men's singles title in the London International Professional Tennis Tourna
ment last night for the third successive year.
Laver. 28, defeated fellmv-Australian Ken Rosewall. five times winner of the event. 6-2, 6-2. 6-3 in the final at the Empire Pool. Wembley, for a first prize of 52,500.
Rosewall found that noth
ing would go right for him and he was well beaten in
68 minutes - one of the fastest finals on record.
It was no classic final to rank with the best of previous years.
Laver broke Rosewall's service five times.
Rosewall tried to make a more lasting impression with clever variations of pace but Laver could not be rattled.
Rosewall found everything coming back at him and it must have been a heartbreaking experience for a player so gifted as he to admit that he was playing only a supporting role last night.

At Midland. Roy Emerson and Fred Stolle defeated Dennis Ralston and Marly Riessen, 7-5, 8-6, 6-1.
Riessen then beat Arthur Ashe, the No. 2 ranked American. 8-5, in an exhi
bition match.
The players are flying between the two cities. The finals will be played
tomorrow.
