DEATH OF LIEUTENANT REID.

BROADFORD, Monday.

Great sorrow was felt here at the an-nouncement in "The Argus" of the death of Lieutenant Stanley Reid, of the West Australian Contingent. Lieutenant Reid

lived in Broadford for about eight years, his father being minister of the local Pres-byterian church. He was very popular, being a prominent member of the cricket and football clubs. After completing his studies at Ormond College, he entered the ministry, and was appointed to the charge of the Boulder City church, which position he resigned to join the contingent. He was also, while at college, a prominent member of the Fitzroy Football Club.
