AN AUSTRALIAN SNIPER

ACCOUNTS FOR 200 TURKS.

LONDON. January 17.

The "Daily Telegraph" publishes to-day an account of the exploits on Galli-poli of an Australian trooper named W. E. Sing, and says that he sniped alto-gether 200 Turks. His targets were in trenches 350, 500, and 1,000 yards away, and as he toppled the Turks over he said, "This is too easy to be called sport." One day a general was the ob-server of Sing's exploits. Sing saw the head of a Turk and fired, but a sudden gust of wind deflected the bullet, which, however, shot another Turk. Sing was annoyed, and exclaimed, "Sorry, gen-eral, I wanted the other chap; I won't

count that one."
