Scientologists'

Control Plan

MELBOURNE, Wednesday. — Scientologists planned to take over Australia, after establishing a "Scientology Government," a witness told the Scientology Inquiry today.

South Yarra publisher Philip Bennett Wearne told the inquiry he first heard of the plan to take over Aus-

tralia in 1960.

The plan was to infiltrate Government departments, political parties and other in-stitutions with scientologists getting jobs in these organi-sations, Wearne said.

He said after the move to "clear Australia" was com-pleted, the aim was to take over the world.

Wearne, publicity officer of

the Committee for Mental Health and National Security, which is composed of "former scientologists", said he was in a key position to carry out the Scientology organisation's work as he had had extensive connections in the Labour Party and Trade Union

movements.

He told the inquiry later that he had a hallucination that earlier in his life he had been caught in a giant spid-er's web and eaten by a 40-ft. spider. This developed after a "scientiology process-ing", he stated.

The inquiry will continue

tomorrow.
