PERUVIAN AMAZON COMPANY

COMPULSORY WINDING-UP.

LONDON, March 19

A compulsory winding-up order was granted to-day in the affairs of the Peruvian Amazon Company.

Mr. J. C. Arana, the local director,

opposed the application, and the judge said Mr. Arana's affidavit was eloquent in its silence regarding the atrocities in Putumayo, and it was quite impos-sible to acquit the partners in Arana's firm of knowledge of the way the

rubber had been collected.
