Wallabies swamp

OAMARU, New Zealand, Tuesday (AAP). - The Wallabies rugby union team had its expected points feast against North Otago at Oamaru today, winning 37-12.

The Australians led the admittedly weak provincial side 17-6 at half-time.

Arthur McGill kicked off for Australia, with the Wallabies playing with the aid of a slight breeze.

North Otago were on attack in the opening minutes and kept the Wallabies pinned in their own territory. North Otago full-back Jeff Gardiner had a dropkick at goal after four minutes, but his kick was well astray and McLcan forced down.

Roy Prosscr offside at a ruck about five yards out from the Australian line gave North Otago a

chance.

Paddy Ford's kick from wide out was accurate. North Otago 3, Australia

After 20 minutes, from a five-yard scrum in north Otago territory, Wallaby winger John Taylor went inside David Rathie and took the ball to dive over under tho posts. McGill converted. Australia 9, North Otago 6.

On halftime, Australia

wu penalised on their 25 for offsida at a ruck and five yards In from touch. Ford's kick missed.

North Otago was the last to score when Ford went over in the corner late in the second half and converted.
