Miss Ruby Payne-Scott, of Willough by, an ex-resident of Penrith, who is on the staff of Sydney University Cancer Research, left on 1st inst for Adelaide. On the way home she will

spend a week in Melbourne in order to attend the Science Congress there.

Mr E. L. R. Keech, Mayor of Wing-ham, visited Penrith last week, and while here called at the Nepean Dairy Factory, meeting the Board and staff of the business that he largely helped to establish when residing here. Mr Keech stayed with his mother and

sister, at Lemongrove. Mrs Keech, who will bo DO-years of age on Bttth inst, is still bright'and cheerful nnd able to take a very keen interest in affairs.
