In the House of Representatives to-day the Minister of Home Affairs (Mr. K. O'Malley) laid on the table a final draft of the census questions:. The new questions, which are to be ratified by regulation.

are as follow: -

Are you owner, tenant, or rent purchaser of your premises?

"What is the weekly rent or rental value?

What is the number of your children (living or dead) from existing marriage?

Salary or wages. State here the amount of your salary or wages per day (6 s. d.), or per week (6 s. d.), or per month (3 s. d.); also average number of hours work per day or per week.

Notes and coin in circulation. State here the amount of money held by you, that is, on your person, in your business calls, in safe deposit, but not in any bank or similar institutions, in-Notes, JCS; sovereigns and half-sovereigns, is; silver, s s. a.; copper, £ s. d.

Total abstinence. If you are a total i abstainer from alcoholic beverages write , Yes." If you are not write "Na." The
