GREENOCK, September 11.— The local school
committee has planned a 'working bee' to erect
a flagpole at the school, and to repair the fence
as soon as the Education Department can be in
duced to supply the necessary material. Messrs.
J. Jungfer (Acting Chairman), T. Kernich, W,
Nenke and M. G. Schluter (members of the com
mittee) met at the school on Saturday afternoon
and cut down and trimrned a 50-ft. sapling for
the flagpole, and planned other work in readi
ness for the proposed 'bee.'— On Saturday even
ing, at the regular meeting of the Loyal Greenock
Lodge, M.U., the Secretary. (Brother W. Seebo,
P.G.), presented a fountain pen to Brother
Harold Turner, who recently enlisted at Kapunda.
Brother Turner spent his boyhood in Greenock.
Besides the Secretary, (P.G.'s Brothers W. B.
Seebo, M. G. Schluter, and T. Kernich voiced
the good wishes of the lodge for Pte. Turner's
