OBITUlA RY. MR OLIVER YOUNGMAN. The death of Mr Oliver Young man, on last Friday night, at his late residence, "Cumeena," Sack ville-street, Port Fairy, removes from our midst an old and highly esteemed district resident. He was the eldest son of Arthur Youngman, Esq., Norwich, England, where he was born in 1847, arriving with his parents in Port Fairy in 1849, (and was therefore a colonist of 66 years). For many years he was asso ciated with his father, the proprie- tor of the Port Fairy "'Gazettes' and was later connected with the " Alpine Observer," Bright. For 29 years he occupied the position of ledger keeper to the late Sir Wil liam Clarke, afterwards retaining a similar position with Sir Rupert Clarke, till failing health led to his resignation. He was connected with the Methodist Chutrch for 50 years, during that period filling all the important positions ,which Methodism could confer. For some considerable time Mr Youngman,s health had been the source of con siderable anxiety to his relatives and friends, and his death, there fore, was not unexpected. He leaves one daughter and two sisters in Port Fairy to mourn him. The interment took place at the Port Fairy cemetery, yesterday after noon, a short service being pre viously held at " Cumeena." The Rev J. Barningham officiated at the graveside.
