The fifth annual cross country championship,
over the ten miles course at Caulfield, was held on Saturday nftornoon, in the presence of about 10,000 people. THE RACE
The large field were sent on their journey shortly before 4 o'clock by Mr ShJpperc and as thev passed the stand l'onimcroy had a slight lead from Herbert, then cumc Cuttle, Qiilnnell, and 1 Ittle, vt Uli W aliter and Blake close handy, n bunch of Coburg men bringing up the rear.
