MR. KERMODE'S FUNERAL.
The remains of our late respected fellow- colonist, the Hon. Robert Quayle Kermode, Esq., will be removed from Mona Vale for inter- ment to-day ; and, as an appropriate and deserved mark of respect to his memory, His Excellency the Governor has directed that the public offices in Hobart Town and Launceston shall be closed at noon. No doubt many business establish- ments in both towns will follow the example, the desire being universal to do what honour is left us to pay to one who long held a prominent place in our society ; whose name will stand permanently associated with many of the most
important public movements of his day, and who had many personal qualities to endear him to those who knew him intimately.
