Splendid gold has been struck in the Mount Eva, owned by Ferguson and party, at a depth of 50ft. It is stated that the stone exceeds in richness anything hitherto struck in Bardoc. I believe this valuable
property, together with the adjoining block, The Australian, is about being purchased by a wealthy syndicate now operating on other blocks in Bardoc. A parcel of about 10 tons from the Australian is now being treated at the Mount Burgess battery, and it is ex- pected will yield an exceedingly handsome return. Good stone is also being raised on the Nerrin Nerrin from below the 200ft level. The election for the vacant seat on the Progress Committee caused by the retirement of Mr J. Blacker resulted in Mr L. J. Dudley being returned. Messrs J. Lawrence', J. Kavanagh, and W. Harper also contested the seat, and polled in the order named.
