The monthly meeting of the general court of directors of the Royal Humane Society of Australasia was held at the boardroom, 41 Selborne chambers, on Wednesday. Present -Mr George Lush (Vice president, in the chair), Messrs E.N. Grimwade, Charles Rennie, R M Treacy, J. C Tyler, and Dr.

Mr Edward Temple Curtis, police magis- trate, Gladstone, Queensland, was appointed honorary correspondent for the society.
AWARDS
Out of the cases considered, the following awards were made, viz -
BRONZE MEDALS
To Frederick William Spence, of Mudgee, New South Wales, a schoolmaster, aged 25 years, who rescued Albert Loughnan, of Sydney, from drowning at Manly pier on 11th February, 1892
Peter Ealam, of Lyttelton, New Zealand, a wharf labourer, aged -26 years, who rescued George Ayers, of same place a hairdresser, aged 55 years, from drowning at Screw Pile jetty on 2nd April, 1892. Mr Ealam jumped off his ship on a dark night, and, fully clothed, swam about 100 yards, caught( and brought back Ayers in an unconscious state
John Andrson, of Thursday Island, Torres Straits, Queensland, master of the lugger Freya, who rescued Niels Olsen from drowning in the open sea near Turtle Island, on 10th June 1892. Mr Olsen waa knocked into the sea by the boom, when the boat was going eight knots and a fresh breeze blowing Mr Ander son jumped overboard and held Olsen up for 15 minutes, till a dingeyj reached them
Certificates of Merit
Edward McKay, of Auckland, New Zealand, a water police constable, aged 35 years, who rescued Joseph Barber, of the same place, age six years, from drowning at the Queen street wharf on I8th April,
1892.
Thomas Coulter, of Christchurch. New Zealand, a carter, aged 20 years, who rescued a young girl, aged about eleven years, from drownlng in the River Avon on 4th February, l892
George Henry Shebler, of Birchip, a mounted con- stable, aged 27 years, who attempted to rescue John Fallon Dodd, of Watchem, a labourer, aged 20 years, who was drowned in Lake Watchem on 7th June,

John Kerr, of Kent street, Svdnej, a seaman, aged 27 j ears, who rescued Kate Keasev, of Raymond terrace, Hunter Uiver, from drowning at Millers Forest, Hunter River, on 20th November, 1S91
Caroline Dendj, of Walhalla a state school teacher, aged 23 \ears, who rescued Robert Leslie M'Lean, aged four j ears, from drowning m the Traralro«
