Anotner pnblic meeting was held to night to consider whether practical steps can be taken at present in urging the ' repeal of the personal exertion tax- I There was a large attendance, and tbe I proceedings showed that tbe opposition j to the tax is as determined as ever. Mr i Crosby Gilmore, M.H.A , spoke, and favored a wealth tax. It wa- resolved ! to hold another pnblic meeting at the Albert Hall, and the Northern members ot the Assembly are to be asked to attend. The meeting resolved in favor of Parliament beiue called together, and resisting the payment of the tax.
