THE WEEK AT THE PORT

Affairs at Fremantle     PARS AND PERSONALITIES

THE LATE MR., DANIEL MULCAHY

Universal regret was expressed at thv Port nn the news being circulated of the death of the late Daniel Mul- cahy, who had been closely identified with business life for very many years in the Port and district. He and his brother, the late Mr. Michael Mul- cahy. who predeceased him by some 8 years, were for long associated with. the licensed victuallers' trade, hold-   ing licenses amongst others for the Commercial, Terminus and National Hotels, also the Central Hotel Perth and on the Goldfields. Mr. Mulcahy in conjunction with his brother also

entered largely into-pastoral pursuits, and amongst other properties owned   by them was the fine Milly Milly stat- tion. Though never entering into public life he took a very lively and keen in terest in all public matters, and was noted for his unostentatious charity and generosity. He never saw the un- der-dog down without lending a help- ing hand. The deceased will be great ly missed by a large circle of friends   and the deepest sympathy is extended to his widow and five sons and daugh- ters. The funeral which took place at the Karrakatta Cemetery on Friday afternoon, was very largely attended   by representative citizens of the City and Port
