Film Costumes Used* For Royal Wedding
Cheering crowds who saw Princess Eliza beth and Phillip ride in a gold coach from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey for their wedding ceremony, actually witnessed part of Alexander Korda's production, 'An Ideal Husband.*'
This came about through a predicament involving officers who were assigned to escort the coach. Apparently, the correct uniforms worn in the past were either destroyed in the blitz or moth-eaten during the days when England's at tention was occupied by less
festive activities. When Korda heard of the situation, he promptly loaned costumes which had beeu made fof his production to the desperate officers and their participation in the spectacular wedding day cere monies went off without a hitch. A,
