HAMILTON STOCK .MARKET, Messrs. Laidlaw and Fenton report under date Saturday, 20th Jan.; We had only a moderate yarding of sheep and cattle forward for to-day's sale, the cattle consisting princi pally of young cattle, and there was a splendid demand for young heifers which sold readily at improved prices, while for young steers tnere was jiited competition and lower prices had 1 be accepted. There was a good dem"0nd for sheep right through one line of r1Ji 4 and 6 tooth. merino ewes from Glenr,'nald estate being very much admired, .-nd making the record price of 1I/0d. e have an improved demand in the yddsT for any good sorts of young sheep ' r breeding ewes. We have "to report having made a clearance of all the cattle yarded, and all the sheep with the exception of two small lots Our sales were :-Sheep.-On account of 1. Cameron, Branxholme, 56 fat cross bred wethers at 12s 9d ; Glenronald estate, 135 4 and 6 tooth merino ewes in lamb at 12s 9d, 1 merino ram at £111s and 1 do £1 7s; Messris. Ioughnane Bros., Flowery Vale, 54 fat crossbred and comeback wethers 12e, 54 fat crossbred ewes at 11s, 23 fat crossbred wethers at lls 6d, 19 mixed crossbreds at 10s 6d, 50 2 tooth crossbred ewes and wethers at 9s 3d and one merino ram; John M'Farlane, Hamilton, 50 merino ewes 4 6 and 8 tooth at 11s and 40 merino wethers at 10s id; John M'Gregor, Yulecart, 114 merino wethers 6 and 8 tooth at 2s 3d; W. Francis, Elstow, 117 crossbred lambs at s 7d; Wmin. Loats, Muddy Creek, 24 fat crossbreds at 10s. Cattle-We sold on account of A. M'Arthur, South Hamilton; 1 fat .cow £5 5s; Messrs. Loughnane -.Bros, Flowery Vale, 6 bullocks at £6, 4 sprongers at £4 10s, 3 cows with alves at foot, at £3 15s, 2 springers at 3 10s ; W. T. Laidlaw, Louth 41 steers 2 to 2½ years old, at £2 17s 6d, 40 steers, 2 years, at £2 12s 6d, 20 steers 11 to 2 years at £2 2s, 23 heifers 2 to 3 years, 29 heifers 2 years at ?214s and 46 heifers 1 to 2 years at £2 8s 6d. Pigs-On account of John Kilpatrick, Branxholme, 6 suckers from 9s tol0s. Privately we have sold outside during this week on aecount of G. Trangmar, Toolang, 750 merio eweso; br. Laidlaw, Breakfast Creek, 1000 2-tooth merinos, mixed xes; A. Laidlaw, Glenburnie, 625 otherossbred ewes and 6 merino ams. Propertie.-W-e have leased on ecount of W. Knight his Daisy Dell estate, near Warrong, and com fntg 7-28 acres of rich grazing and t .ing land for a term of years at a 50tisfactory rental; also sold on his h ant 850 crossbred sheep and 22 ad cattle at satisfactory prices.
