KOOMBANA AGROUND

AGAIN.

Possibly the heading is wrong, but it supplies the most satisfactory solu tion. The Koombana left Carnarvon

jetty on Tuesday night, with the idea of making Denham anchorage soon after daylight on Wednesday. She arrived at 7 a.m. on Thursday instead. The local agents suggest that a dense fog overhung the bay for 24 hours, and the captain deemed it prudent to anchor; otherwise they are unap proachable on the subject. A large number of telegrams were despatched from Carnarvon yesterday, congratu lating several of oar residents, who are tripping South, on a pleasant day spent fishing for sharks from the

Koombana's deck.

[Later news gleaned is that the

Koombana arrived in Denham on Wednesday night at 9 p.m., and left at 7 a.m. next morning. She struck a sandbank, and was held fast for 12 hours. The motor launch was des patched to Denham to report the accident, but the Koombana slid off, and passed the launch on the way in.]
