CHRISTMAS DINNER TOR SUNEMPLOYED. Through the -ge erosity of Mrs. S. Roy Chinmpness, the unemployed who chanced to he in Kaniva on Christmnas Day were treated to a thrcĂ˝-course meal. About seven tramIps, who were cuamped in the town were entertained at a sumlptuous meal, specially prepar ed by Mrs. Champness. Through the courtesy of Mrs. .Warwick, the meal was served in their dining, rooms. A similar. move, was made at Portland, where over 26(i of the sad and unfortuti ate army were provided with a tasty and very acceptable meal in the. old gaol buildings. The senior constable bad-cyhargc of the feast in the old-time institution, and said the men Ywere decent and well-behaved.
