The magpie 'midst the wattle-blooms ^
Is singing loud and long ; ; What fragance in the scattered scent, -v What magic in the song !
. ; ,7 On.yonder gum a mopoke's throat ~ 7

Anä far within the fern-tree scrub,
A lyre-birdsings MB hymn.
Among the.stringybarks a crowd
Of dazzling parrakeets.
But high o'er all the magpie loud
HÍB loyous song repeats.
