I Sir,-Major Mowat would find much information

of tho kind that ho requirer in "The Historical Reoords of tho British Army," published by W. Clowes and Sons, 13, Charing Cross, London, but as tho entire work comprises moro than 100 volume«, h* might find it moro eonvenient to sooure the service» of some person having access to ono of the large military libraries in England or Ireland to glean through tho work, and Bnpply extracts. Should ho have no friend or acquaintance able to help him, I might take it on myself to got ono of the many army friends that I have to oblige him, in furtherance of his contemplated work.
