Christmas ! * -0 00----- 'ýi On Christmas Day we repeat the old familiar. greetings that each year iLn some .mystic way rings fresh and e c true--"Merr Christmas." 'Like such .words.as .tlilio" and "goodbye," there really Isn't anything .else to day. that pulls at your heartstrings ,as do these old dear words. And so again we , say: MERRY CHRISTMAS-to the litt i lest ones who skip downstairs, in the, grey dawn to explore their stockings and the wondrdus tree, and to look f at Christmas with' the special radi ance of youth . . . who lend 'to the rest of us little gliminers of the "real Christmas glamor . MERRY CHRISTMAS-to loved ones overseas, soldiers, sailors and airmen, who've given us that greatest of gifts-their protection. . MERRY CHRISTMAS-to father, who'll strain a point any day to give us all the things we want . . . who * 'probably works much too hard :and j yet keeps younger. and more alert bI ecause of the responsibility of a famiy ,and ,the competitioni of' busi ness . . . who makes the i gestire of tut-tutting 'all the fuss and 'feathers . :yet beams with affection and .excite ment. MERRY CHRISTMAS-to mother who really calls- the tune for the.holi days and does the planning andptull Ing together . . . who flutters and bustlers radiantly.. for weeks :ahead and undoubtedly has the best.. and busiest time of all. ........ MERRY CHRISTMAS - to the butcher, . the . baker,. the. candlestick maker, not to mention allWtliose who ,sold. us shoes and. ships and sealing wax .,. .. for what would Christmas be without them? ' : MERRY. CHRISTMAS.- to' dear friends far and near ,who!ve' sent us" greetings. and. gifts . . . more especi ally do we cherish the :greetings be cause even: more than::gifts they ex press the true, spirit of. Christmas. 1MERRY CHRISTMAS - to the dropper-in who- comes with holiday cheer and friendship .. . who comes to. our parties or stops by tospread a word of greeting. MERRY CHRISTMAS-to ourselves, for that matter. But then. we feel pretty sure that we'lliaave 'one' for we've put so much work .and excite-' ment and loving getting-ready into it. For of course we all get out of Christ-. mas just about what we put in.. MERRY CHRISTMAS -- to . the house where .we've all gathered for 'our, holiday fun, where' we've "shared our holiday feast 'With 'friends and re lations, where,. as another 'Christmas fades into twilight,. we'. will settle comfortably into '. the :.dear , shabby rooms for another year, hoping' only' for, peace and the happiness of little lives' plodding contentedly along a street where trees 'meet overhead:
