SIR JOHN LONGSTAFF ELECTED PRESIDENT OF ACADEMY OF ART
MELBOURNE, February 3.
The well-known Victorian artist, Sir John Longstaff, has been elected first president of the Australian Academy of Art. He received a unanimous vote of the members. The winner of the first travelling scholarship given by the Victorian Government in 1887, Sir John Longstaff had a distinguished career. He won the Archibald Prize four times.
