TWENTY-FIVE BENGAL VIL-
LAGES DESTROYED.
London, Wednesday.
Farther particulars concerning the disastrous floods in Southern Bengal
show that the rivers Brahamini and
Banslai overflooded their banks. Twenty- five villages were destroyed and 6,000 people rendered homeless. A few lives were lost.
London, Thursday.
Sixty-two bodies have been recovered at Mangapatriam, in Southern Bengal, where the mail train swept into the river owing to the railway bridge having been destroyed by floods.
