Boy Scout on trial
LONDON - A 17-year-old Boy Scout, accused of murder ing a 74-year-old spinster, told the jury at Winchester, Hamp shire, Assizes that police wrote down the exact oppos ite of statements he made.
The scout, Barry Musson, of Bournemouth, was being cross-examined on a charge of murdering Miss Amy Kath erine Lloyd, badge-secretary of his troop, at her home in Bournemouth on May 15. He has pleaded not guilty.
He broke down in tears in the witness box when being cross-examined by Mr. Fox Andrews, prosecuting.
Referring to an interview with Detective-Superintendent Reginald Spooner of Scotland Yard, and another detective, Musson said: "I was just say ing 'Yes' to all they asked."
Mr. Fox-Andrews: "Are you saying that these two officers were writing the exact oppos ite of what they knew you had said?"-"Yes, sir."
