FLATS MAY BE BUILT ON
ASCOT RACECOURSE
MELBOURNE, Wednesday.-The, Ascot racecourse is likely to become a site for flats. It will probably be acquired by tho Hou6Íng-Commission, and the cost may be in the vicinity of £120,000. .
A plan of development is being pre pared by the Housing Commission for sub mission to State Cabinet on Monday.
Tho cost of the laud is not considered high by the housing authorities if it is used for flats, but it would not bo eco nomical for individual builders.
