MISS SPOONER'S EPEORT.
' LONDON, Tuesday.-Miss Winifred Spooner, tho King's Cup winner, will
set' out at dawn to-morrow in a dra matic attempt to fly from London to Capetown in five days, which is four doys less than tho previous record. She
will bo accompanied by Elying-Officer

E. Edwards, and plans to fly at night as well as day. Miss Spoon er says she hopes

Service, which, will soon be inaugurat ed, that it could run to r five days' schodulo with re
lay pilots and ma chines. She, of courso, is depend ing upon tho one machine, which is

a De Soutter monoplane of 120 horse power. It has a Gipsy engine, and carries sufficient petrol for eloven hours. Tho cruising speed is 110 milos per hour, and tho range is 1200 miles. Tho total distance of the route is 10, 250 miles.

ony.
