OAKLEIGH PCLICE COURT. -4-- Tuesday, December 1. Before- !essrs Lookor, Nelson, Jor dan, Binns, Irwin and Grant J's.P. A BUTTING RAM, Thos. Jones, butcher, of Broad- wood street, was charged by Senior- constable A. H. Gray with allowing a flock of sheep to stray in the piblic street on the 28th October. Senior constable Gray, who pro- duced his appointment as Inspector of Nuisances, as also a copy of the shire byelaw, said that at about 10.30a.m. on the 28th October, he heard his daughter scream out, when he rushed out and saw a ram belong- ing to Jones butting a woman. He assisted the woman and attended to her, and in company with Constable Kelleher took the rain to Jones' place of business, and tied it up. There was a flock of about 150 sheep straying about between Drummond, Logie and Atkinson streets. There was no person in charge of the sheep whatever. Co»istable Kelleher and Roxl y gave corroborative evidence, W. Rigby, a lad in the employ of Jones, said he was in charge of the flock of sheep, and when the woman was attacked by the ram he ran to her assistance but she told him to keep away. He then ran for Mr Jones but could not find him. When he returned he saw the constable with the sheep. He was fined £3 with £1 3s 6d costs.   INSULTING BEHAVIOUR. E,. Hart. charged by 8enior-con stablo Gray with insulting behaviour at theaOakleigh Park races on the 28th November. He was fined £1 with 12s costs. NO NAME, P. Gundisch and W. Stewart, charged by Constable Kelleher with having no name on their drays were fined' 2s Gd each, and J. Hennessy and E. Rothwell for having no lights were similarly fined. Verdicts with costs were awarded Hamilton v. Buckland, £4 5s, same v. Lakeman, £19 15s, same v..Petit, £12 15s, Hamilton v. C. Bates £Li 10s, Jones v. Coleman i"4 Os 3d, same v. Gough £4 18s 9Jd, and Shire of Oakleigh v. C. B. Counsel £3. In the case of Petit v. Hamiloun the charge was withdrawn. OUlSJ$NE I.ANGUAGE. E.
