LATEST NEWS (nr ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.) (Anglo-ustralian Press Agenoy.) M1elbourne, Tnrs DAY. The trial of .Williams, Bennett and Quinn in connection with the Albert Park safe robbery was continued this morning. The jadge summed up against the prisoners. Mr. Cotton, manager of the A.J.S. Bank at Broken Hill, was brought up and remanded at the local court this morning on a charge of assaulting Richard Sleath, Secretary of the Barrier Miners Assoei atiun. Charles Jewell was charged at the City Court on a charge of shooting with intent to murder Constable Foley on the night of the 27th July. Fol3y found the prisoner loitering in a suspicious manner in a right.of-way off Lonsdsle street and challenged him. The prisoner then fired at Foley the bullet knooking his hbelment off. Prisoner was committed for trial.
