LOCAL LAND COUIIT. On Monday, 25th inst., at 10 a.m. a large number of selectors appeared at the Land Court before the District Surveyor, Mr Lindsay Clarke, the President of the Portlaudabhire, Mr J. Tranugmar, and Mayor of Portland, Mr W. Cor?ey, when the fol lowing . applications were recommended. The applicants numbered 51 and the selec tions averaged about 100 acres each. The land selected was for the most part iii the neighbourhood of Heywood, Dartmoor and the Greenhills. The Board expressed its approval and recommended thie application accordingly. This is the third Land 'Cosrt held in Port land. The total numuer of applicants to whom allotsensts has been 'granted under the Land Act 1869, is 174, covering an area of 20,127 acres, or an average for each of Illi acres nearly.
