OBITUARY -x- The death of Mrs. Mary Palmer,, widow of the late J. K. Palmer, of liawkesdale, took place at St. Kilda on November 19th. Mrs. Palmer, who was the second (ldaughter of John and Ellen Kenney, pioneer set tlers of Lower Cape Bridgewater, was born in Richmond Street, Port land, in the year 1847, and was therefore 94. years of age. The house in which the deceased was born still stands. Mrs. Palmer leaves a fam ily of three-Mrs. C. McKenzie, of Pakenham ; Mrs. Waterman, St. Kilda, ; and Syd., of IHeidelberg. A brother, Samuel Kenney, of Kongor ong, also survives. The deaths of Mrs. Jas. Lightbody, aged 86, on October 20th; Mrs. Samuel Ken ney, on November 10th, age"- 78 and Mrs. Palmer on November 19th aged 94, have removed three former Bridgewater residents within a very short space of time. Mrs. Palmer could possibly claim to have been the oldest Portland native.
