OBITUARY MRS. M. SYMINGTON. The death of Mrs. Margaret Symington took place on Thursday night at the age of 85 years. The deceased, widely known for her kindly and charitable nature, was a member of the pioneer Martin fam- ily, being born in Portland, where she lived continuously for the re- mainder of her long life. Mr. Angus Martin, well-known to old Portlanders, is a brother and an interesting fact is that both their parents are buried in the old Portland cemetery. The deceased lady leaves a fam- ily of two boys and two girls-Tom, Percy, Irene and Gladys, to whom the deepest sympathy is extended. Another daughter is deceased. The funeral took place on Sat- urday afternoon, and was very largely attended. The remains were interred in the family grave at the South cemetery, Mrs. Syming- ton's husband having predeceased her some thirty years ago. The services at both the house and graveside were impressively con- ducted by the Rev. D. C. Lewis, while Mr. T. C. Jarrett had charge of the mortuary arrangements.
