Obituary. MRS. W. JACKMAN. A very old identity in the person of Mrs. Harriet Jackman passed away at her home, Gawler street, on Saturday evening. She was born in Ireland in the year 1850, and came to Australia with her family seven years later. At an early age she maried Mr William Jackman; a nonagenarian, and with him was one of the earliest settlers in the Wim mera. They removed to Portland about twenty-five years ago and have resided in Gawler street ever since. The late lady, who was early employed as nurse-maid to the Henty family at Muntham Station, was of a wonderfully charitable disposition, which earned for her a host of friends, who mourn with the bereaved family in their trouble. The members of the latter are Katie (Mrs. McRae), Susan (Mrs. Olle), Ellen (Mrs. Johns), Minnie (Mrs. W. Truran (deceased), Ruby. (Mrs. S. L. Patterson), James, Henry, Albert William (deceased), and Herbert. The funeral took place this morning, and was largely attended. The ser vice at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. Father Cain, while the mortuary arrangements were car ried out by Mr. T. C. Jarrett.
