SHOOTING ACCIDENT AT HAMILTON. An unfortunate shootior accident occurred at Hamilton last week which might easily have been fatal. Revs. Father Timmins and T. Scan Ian. B.A.. were taking a walk through the reservoir park.,and thinking they would probably put up same rabbits, took their Runs with them. When in'the vicinity or Mr Beveridge's property a hare was started, and Farther Timmina fired and wounded it. The hare ran alongside an acacia hedge and stopped. Father Scanlan from the opposite aide of the hedge, saw the hare, and. holding the barrel of the gun, poked through the hedge to wards the hare. The cartridge in the gun exploded, and portion of the charge of number eight shot entered Father Scaelan's thigh. Assistance was .speedily secured, the ambulance and Dr. Douglas summoned, and the patient con= veyed to town. An X-ray exami nation was made, and the patient was taken to St. Ronane private hospital for an operation.
