. IT is characteristic of the
enterprise and courage displayed by the late Mr. J. H. Cummins that, in the years following the consolidation of the business of his company on the goldfields, he planned a new market for the sale of Big K ale and stout Merre- din, die capital of the wheat belt, attracted him as being a prosperous centre and a town whose geographical position and rail way facilities promised easy transit to other agricul- tural towns.
