New Local Company Formed

During the week a company, known as Hoyt« (Fremantle) Ltd., was registered at the Supreme Court. The object of the company is to build and conduct a picture theatre at the corner of High and Queen streets, Fremantle.

The new theatre, which will cost £20,000, will have seating accommoda- tion for 1300 persons, and the most modern pf equipment throughout.

Mr. S. W. Perry, resident manager in Western Australia for Hoyts Thea- tres Ltd., who is chairman of the new- ly formed company, said that plans for the new theatre incorporated all the best features of modern picture thea- tre design. The new structure would I be similar in design to the Windsor

Theatre in Melbourne.

[ The theatre would have stage space and equipment for vaudeville acts, and also for the presentation of plays, lt ! would be an imposing modernistic

structure with a tower rising 60ft. from the ground.

Demolition of the building on the proposed site will begin almost imme- diately.
