Anthony Steel in Malta film

LONDON, Sat: Anthony Steel has been chosen to co-star with Alec Guinness in the picture, tentatively ? titled: 'The Malta Story,' about the George Cross island in World War II.

Steel has the part of Guinness' commanding of ficer. For both ex-naval lieutenant Guinness and ex-paratrooper Steel it is their first appearance in Air Force clue. Steel, a Grenadier Guardsman at 18, was badly wounded on patrol in the Middle East, was again wounded in the Far East, and then turned para chutist, making nine opera tional jumps. Guinness is looking for ward to making this pic ture. 'It will revive old memo ries for me,' he said. 'I played at the Opera House on Malta with the Old Vic in 1939. The theatre was later destroyed by bomb ing. 'From the invasion onwards I was constantly in and out of Malta as a lieutenant in command of a small craft. On one occasion I was brought back as a survivor from a ship wrecked in a storm in the Adriatic.' ? * DAVID Farrar and Peter Reynolds are the Bri tish stars in one sequence of a three-part Italian pro duction, 'Our Children.' Filming was done in Rome, London, and Paris. ? * 'T\INAH Sheridan seems ?*-' fated to face unusual competition in her movies. In 'Where No Vultures Fly' it was animals — a menagerie of them. Now in 'Genevieve' she has to stand up to the opposition of 50 veteran cars. The new comedy has Dinah, with film husband John Gregson, taking part in the annual London to Brighton car rally. And after 'Genevieve '? Dinah has more competi

tion — back among the animals for a sequel to 'Vultures.' Scripter Harry Watt is working on the story now. TAMES Robertson Justice ' plays Henry VIII. in the Walt Disney produc tion 'The Sword and the Rose.' Glynis Johns is Mary Tudor, the King's sister.
