FREE CHURCH SUPPORT.
LONDON, March 12.
At the annual Assembly of the Free Church Council. Mr. Solbie declared: Free Churchmen are prepared to endure much more than they have aiready been asked to endure in order to see the war through. I do not believe war can ever be, a Christian* thing,, and wo do not in- tend to see militarism established in Great Britain,' but we leahse that there are oc- casions when war is justified. " Free Churchmen beliei e that the Allies are fight- ing for peace and righteousness. We be- lieve in the,League of Nations, and we hope the Government will take a more cordial attitude towards the league. We regret that the real leaders of the idea aie not found in Great Britain, but in America. . .
